Disney Doodle: Up “You are my Greatest Adventure”

Disney’s Up is one of my favorite movies of all time.

I saw this movie in theaters in high school with a bunch of friends.  My friend Jacob, who is normally a pretty cranky person, cried from laughing so hard at Doug the dog. We were the loudest group of people in the movie theater. Russel, Dug, and Kevin (Kevin’s a girl??) were all so adorable, funny, and magical.

But nothing is as adorable, sweet, and wonderful as Carl and Ellie. #truelove  What a beautiful story of the adventures and joys of married life.

I painted this 12×12 acrylic piece for a friend who loves the movie Up and all the characters in it just as much as I do! She just got engaged to the love of her life. May they always be each other’s greatest adventure!

Catie Bee Art: Wedding Art

Lately I’ve been working on a lot of custom orders for weddings and bridal showers!

Picture frames, guest books, wooden things, calligraphy for wedding signs, etc.

One of my favorite parts of working as a wedding assistant is seeing how the bride and groom bring personal touches to their wedding design! What better way to add a personal touch on your big day than with art?

While planning for my own wedding, I knew I wanted to do something creative with a personal touch. Being that we had our wedding at Disney World, I painted the seating chart – with each table inspired by a different fairytale land.  It took a lot of paint and patience to get it just the way I wanted.

While working on my own wedding art, I discovered how much fun it is to create unique pieces displayed at meaningful and important events.  I have loved working on custom orders for brides & grooms!

Here are some more fun wedding projects I’ve worked on …

Disney Doodle: Monster’s Inc. Wall Art

Weee!! Enjoyed painting this Monster’s Inc. wall art piece for my friend, Haley!

I met Haley and her husband Tyler while working at Walt Disney World, and they kindly let me stay at their house as I traveled from Nashville to Orlando to perform at the parks! They were my “home away from home” and introduced to the Bachelorette and Nordy.

A few weeks ago, Haley gave birth to a BABY BOY! They designed a Monster’s Inc nursery for Callahan.  I was thrilled to paint this for them!!

Disney Doodle: “Off to Neverland!”

unnamed-1.jpg

Oh my goodness!

This piece was SO wonderful to paint.

With each brush stroke, I wished I was flying off to Neverland!

This 8×10 acrylic Catie Bee Art painting is for my friend Mercedes – who I met on my wedding day! She was an assistant at my wedding at Walt Disney World. Moments before I walked down the aisle, she exclaimed:

“Oh my gosh! Is this song from the Tinker Bell movie??”

((Yes – I walked down the aisle to a song from the Tinker Bell movie))

“Home Sweet Home” – Catie Bee Art

My awesome friend from college Matt wanted a special art piece to surprise his parents.

They recently moved into a new house, and he + his siblings thought a painting of their old home would be a precious gift to their parents.

I absolutely LOVED painting his childhood home with watercolor paints and even added his adorable dog Nash! This is an 8×10 piece in a 11×14 frame.

My favorite part of this whole experience was receiving a text from Matt saying that his parents and siblings loved it, and his mother had tears in her eyes when she saw this for the first time. It warms my heart when art brings joy!

Thank you, Matt!

Disney Doodle: Pocahontas

Pocahontas is such a badass.

And totally underrated.

A friend from high school ordered this Pocahontas painting to give to his beautiful girlfriend for her birthday.

I’ve never painted Pocahontas before, so this was a fun project!  I have to admit, I sang (very loudly) along to the movie soundtrack as I painted with all the colors of the wind.
